Water leak coming in from top middle of dash

by Richiem » Sat Jun 25, 2016 8:17 pm

Hi All

Been away for a while . Got a water leak i cant find, Dont seem to be any links on google so thought id ask the folks here for ideas.
Seems the water is coming in from high up behind the dash around were the heater blowers are. Problem is, everything is in the way so i cant see were its coming in. Hoping i can find the entry point from the engine bay area or around the area of the screen outside . Dont really want to have to remove the dash as id guess that would be a right headache . If that needs to be done then id be happy if someone knows a how to post for this ? Right now im looking around the area under the wiper tray and the pollen filter . Feeling its there somewere . Have checked the sunroof drains before but around a year ago.
Any pointers would be very helpful . Cheers

have you cleaned out the elephant trunk ? it sits behind the engine and if it blokes up it will back the water up that comes in down the scuttle panel and seeps in the blower

Did you not check the bulk head last year when the engine was out ???????
I found rot round where the pipes from the heater box cone into the bay I had to fabricate all new metal work round the original holes and replace it. It's a right basterd of a job that's why I had to remove the the dash and heater

Man, I feel for you. That sounds so annoying to have to do.
