Money woes... I understand.

Well update the thread when it has been done, should look good as the prep is the important step.

well nipped into my local auto shop yesterday and picked up 2 rolls of acoustic carpet and some spray glue. so this morning made a start on the carpeting the box, got the front done first
Image
cut out the holes for the 6x9's and then trimed it ready for the top to be done
Image
with the top carpeted and trimmed and the hole cut out for the sub it was time to fit the amp and 6x9's, it was easier fitting them before putting it in the boot
Image
now it was just a case of wiring it all back up and fitting the sub
Image
ok it may not be up there with the likes of fostersice17's install (which is a cracking install) but it's simple and effective. and it just goes to prove if i can do it anybody can

can i just ask how you bring the main power for the amp into the cab from the engine bay my mate seems adamant that i need to cut the door rubber and bring it in from the top corner of the wing and round the door frame but i think there must be a more attractive looking way to do it

There is a large Rubber grommet behing the engine bay fuse box. Thats where most of us have done it.

as andy says there is the rubber gromet just underneath the fuse box, you'll also find it easier taking the glovebox out so you can pull the wire through from the engine bay

Have you fixed the install into the boot or does it just unplug and lift out if needs be?
