Body Kit fitted

by Teejay » Thu Jul 18, 2013 11:01 pm

ECU and injectors are standard currently
I have a 3.0 ECU from an Omega that will go on but I want to combine it with a different inlet, injectors and remap
I'm thinking Sintra inlet and loom as I think it will fit under the bonnet but will have to fit a cone filter as the air filter sits the other side so will have to drop it down beside the gearbox
What was your V6 running, I'm sure someone told me it was hitting 240 brake over the weekend?

Hmmm interesting, what's your set up?
I'm aiming for about the same - achievable and should still be reliable

Body Kit fitted

by Teejay » Mon Jul 22, 2013 5:52 pm

Decided it's time to put a kit back on.
So, as I'm also fitting 19" rims I had to deal with the issue of rubbing arches.
Got a pair of wings with rolled arches and went to Dan's (Calibra Halfway House) as he said he'd give me a hand.
Gail was on hand with the camera to chart the progress - bless
So first - bumper off
Image
Pop the bonnet struts off and begin removing the wing bolts
Image
There's always one f****r that you can't get to!
The nearside one was the easier of the two, offside one was a swear fest
Image
This is in the footwell behind relay boxes, loom and padding

Front part of the skirt off to get to the one underneath
Image

And two more on the side behind the bumper.
last bolt is on the bulkhead just next to the wing mirror assembly
Then it's off with the first wing.

Body Kit fitted

by Teejay » Mon Jul 22, 2013 6:28 pm

Time for the other side:
Off comes the old one
Image
Initially decided to try and retain the arch liners so trim age was required

Image
Image
Image
New wing on

Image
All appeared to fit with full lock both sides not fouling
Image
Image
Unfortunately as soon as I drove it the wheels started catching on the liners
So the 18"s went back on temporarily until the arch liners could be removed
Removed arch liners the next day, the voids will have to be stone guarded

So rolled arch wings fitted and 19"s on ready for the body shop
It turns out the rims were originally Shaza's!!!
I knew I'd get them eventually!
Image
Image
A few new parts to go on
New Rieger kit (front and rear aprons and side skirts)
Image
Image
A full set of upper and lower door seals and weather strips
Image
New side repeaters
Image

OK, here's the parts list for the body shop trip tomorrow

1 x upper o/s door seal
1 x lower o/s door seal
1 x lower n/s door seal
1 x upper n/s door seal
1 x o/s weather strip

1 x Roof spoiler
10 x bump strips (1 x o/s front corner, 1 x n/s front corner, 1 x o/s rear corner, 1 x n/s rear corner, 1 x n/s side rear, 1 x n/s side middle, 1 x n/s side front, 1 x o/s side rear, 1 x o/s side middle, 1 x o/s side front)
1 x pack of side bump strip clips (spares)
1 x pack front and rear bump strip clips (spares)
1 x pair bonnet vents and frames
1 x front 'V' badge gel
1 x boot badge (spare)
