Just in case anyone thought this had died, it hasn't but haven't had much time to post recently.

The V6 donor is merrily being stripped in preperation & tomorrow the dash, carpets & all panels in the rear come out ready for me to look at & swear at the loom! Every connector block has been tagged & marked where it came from in the process. Tomorrow the rest comes out!

Got the 288mm Mtec Silver Edition disks drilled for 4 stud in preperation,

Got the big .com Billing meet over next weekend so have a little time off but after that, the SE4 joins the V6 donor on the drive & the dirty work really begins!

Owned this SE4 for nearly 7 years now but only really started making plans & changes last year. So far it's pretty much been cosmetic (exhaust & shocks I did a few years back) & some "preservation" work. Got more to do this year, Rieger "style" kit to go on, some de-rusting, painting & polybushing of the front running gear, some internals (got all the dash components with blue LED's sitting in a box awaiting to replce my standard ones) & some prep work for my proposed V6 conversion.

V6 conversion was planned for this year but some unexpected expenses over the last couple of months has set me back a while on that one. Will happen but unlikely to be until next year now.

Anyhoo, here's some pics of some of the work that's been carried out of late & some of the car how it is at the moment.

There we go, that is me & my SE4. :)

Alright Dan,

Met you in PVS. Hows it going? Nice PF bushes, did you fit them yourself? I am going to do this to the LE but they look like a press job?

Sean.

Hi Sean, we did indeed meet at PVS & had a good musical session that evening! :D

The Powerflex bushes are p**s easy to fit, the big one's come in two halves & the vertical ones on the front arms pressed in nicely with a vice & some copper ease.

Getting the old ones out invloved a hacksaw, some sockets & a vice (a bit of fire also if I remember correctly).

Two words for today, "HOLY CRAP"! :o

Got the dash out & every other internal panel that hides the loom & this is what faces me.

To be honest, I spent a fair ammount of time looking around it all once I'd got the car to this point & it doesn't actually look too bad in respect of getting it all out & swapping it over. I've some more "labelling" to do (more so points on the loom & where it sits in the shell, a bunch or relays that clip into parts of the dash at the rear & all the crap in both footwells) so I can sort of map it back out when it's all out & in a heap but the thought of having to strip my SE4 to this point is where I just stop thinking about it! :)

Still, stripping the V6 donor to this point has given me some good pointers as to how it all fits in so, shouldn't be so bad the second time around. :?

Can't do much else now until the engine is out (start that after Billing) as I need to feed a lot of the loom from the engine bay back through into the car before it all comes out.

Happy days!

Absolutely,

Don't worry, I'll post the pictures here of 30 odd (maybe more, maybe less) Calibra's all together (including a convertible) at Billing for the .com meet. :D
